Various types of vehicles are stuck in the same traffic jam

Context of the observation

A wide array of automotive vehicles are stuck in traffic on Uhuru Highway, waiting to get through the Kenyatta Avenue roundabout, including better maintained and newer personal vehicles, a matatu in the second lane on the right edge of the photo, what appears to be a military or police type vehicle in the center, an older, and more run-down lorry, and a moving truck (just a simple pick-up truck full of boxes and furniture, where the passengers are riding in the bed of the truck holding everything in place.)

This picture shows the huge scope of people effected by the congested traffic in Nairobi. Higher classes, as well as lower, personal vehicles as well as commercial ones, everyone is stuck in the same situation with eachother. This simple snapshot might also give us a look into the economy, and class structure in Nairobi, and private vehicles are newer and in better repair than the commercial vehilces. The men in the moving truck give us an insight into the dangerous conditions that some “mobile jobs” might be involved in.

In what ways do traffic jams hinder and enhance economic activity?
